Good 'Ol Days

July 1984 Youth Dance at the Casper Stake Center. I was "Blondie" and Dean was "Dagwood'!

This is the only picture I can still access from my computer of Dean & Leah's wedding. Not sure where the rest went but they are hidden from me!

OK I finally figured out how to rotate the picture. Next time I'm making Dean stand on his head if they're sideways! I hope he took these & not me because they were all sideways!
This is Lylli standing sideways in her beautiful baptism dress. I guess when you're 8, you can do magical things like that.
We are horse sitting 6 lawn mowers for a couple of weeks. They seem happy with their new home & we're excited that we don't have to mow even though Dean finally got the parts to fix the mower. The grass & weeds are too long to mow since most of it is waist high. We're thinking this might be such a good deal, we'll have to reserve them for next summer, too!

The Name Game

Dean got engaged last week to Leah Frakes. We're very excited to have her in our family but I just have to laugh at the irony of it all. When we were expecting Rachel and trying to think of names, we threw out Lauralee on the premise that Lauralee Lorimer was just too many "L" sounds for her to live with. So what does she do? She marries Shane Rager and becomes RAchel RAger for eternity! Next, Michelle marries Mike Gibbs. Michelle & Michael are the SAME NAME except one is for a girl and the other a boy. It turns out Mike has a sister-in-law also named Michelle Gibbs. Then, they named their son Carson Michael, their daughter Natalie Michelle and I found out later that Shane's middle name is Michael. So the family is full of Michael/Michelles. Now, we get to Dean who we named after his Dad even though we knew it would be confusing at times. We didn't call him Paul because I have a brother named that. All the nicknames didn't really appeal to me either but somehow "Little Dean" stuck the best. Of course, he is now much taller than "Big Dean". I realized that when Dean marries Leah, she will be Leah Lorimer; not quite as many "L's" as Lauralee unless her middle name is Laura. So I guess it was destined to be--the "L" people, the "R" people, the Dean's and Michelle/Michael's, and I'm the lonesome Beverly. Maybe I can join the the "L" clan by leaving out the Bever. Just call me Ly Lorimer!
PS I'm just musing. Please don't take this as an insult to your name.

Christmas & Skiing

Lylli on her skiis! Check out my facebook page for more pictures of her.

Dean's birthday was the day after Christmas and all the kids arrived in time for cake!

Dean looks a little mischievous to me.

We're so lucky to have Santa come on Christmas Eve!

All of our kids and grandkids came after Christmas except for Shane who started a new job. We had a full house. It was fun! Dean, Leah and I took Lylli cross country skiing for the first time. She loved it and the snow was new & soft so it didn't hurt to fall.

Labor Day

Dean and I decided to go camping for our last day off until Thanksgiving. We drove down to Laramie to drop off Dean's cello then a few miles over to Happy Jack. It was raining when we got there and there was only one spot left. We parked and set up our tent in the rain and Dean got a fire going for dinner. I was really glad I married an Eagle Scout who actually LEARNED all the scouting/camping stuff! It stopped raining and we ate a delicious dutch oven dinner about 9:30 p.m. We even slept pretty well until 4 a.m. when someone's car alarm went off. Then, just as we dozed back off, it went off again! We finally got back to sleep and slept until 9:00 a.m. Evidently everyone else in the campground did too because it looked like no one was up and about much before us. Not long after breakfast, we took Dean to lunch---I was so stuffed! We had a good visit, though and a good time.
On a different note, a college kid rear-ended me today on my way to the college. I can't believe how many times I've gotten slammed into. Dean says maybe I should take a look in the mirror and examine my driving. Honestly, I've been trying to be more careful but all of these accidents have been 100% the other person's fault. I looked for the "Hit me!" sign on my car, but I can't find it. I need a force shield to protect me!
