Labor Day

Dean and I decided to go camping for our last day off until Thanksgiving. We drove down to Laramie to drop off Dean's cello then a few miles over to Happy Jack. It was raining when we got there and there was only one spot left. We parked and set up our tent in the rain and Dean got a fire going for dinner. I was really glad I married an Eagle Scout who actually LEARNED all the scouting/camping stuff! It stopped raining and we ate a delicious dutch oven dinner about 9:30 p.m. We even slept pretty well until 4 a.m. when someone's car alarm went off. Then, just as we dozed back off, it went off again! We finally got back to sleep and slept until 9:00 a.m. Evidently everyone else in the campground did too because it looked like no one was up and about much before us. Not long after breakfast, we took Dean to lunch---I was so stuffed! We had a good visit, though and a good time.
On a different note, a college kid rear-ended me today on my way to the college. I can't believe how many times I've gotten slammed into. Dean says maybe I should take a look in the mirror and examine my driving. Honestly, I've been trying to be more careful but all of these accidents have been 100% the other person's fault. I looked for the "Hit me!" sign on my car, but I can't find it. I need a force shield to protect me!

Lylli swinging from one "island" to another to keep away from sharks at the Lorimer family reunion.
Seryn, Carson & Layla singing "Aki Taki-Umba" with grandpa.
A great picture of Carson on the Giant Swing. We all did it but this picture turned out really cute!
This is my first golf lesson in Cliff's yard using Katrina's clubs. It was fun but nobody has asked to actually play golf with them which should clue you in on my natural ability to golf!

This is Layla at her Pre-school graduation.

Dean & I stayed with Carson & Natalie for Mike & Michelle's anniversary. This is me and Natalie at the zoo.
We bought a kite at the zoo and the wind was perfect for flying it so Grandpa and Carson had a good time with that.
Carson is feeding the goats in the petting zoo.
Little Dean and I went to IF to visit Mike & Michelle during his spring break last March. Yes, it has taken me a long time to post this but life has been crazy when the computer works!
This is Natalie--she loves snacks.
Carson is getting really fast on his bike. We had a hard time keeping up with him when we walked.

Dream becomes nightmare!

I thought this was funny especially since I slept through it all! Dean was dreaming yesterday morning (Sunday) that he was vacuuming the pews in the chapel. All of a sudden, he jumped out of bed, (it was 6:15 a.m.) and ran into the kitchen to see if it was our week to clean the church. There was a note on the fridge and it was indeed our week so he hurried & dressed and drove over to the church. Sure enough, no one had cleaned even though 3 families were assigned. He hurried as fast as he could to do all the cleaning except vacuuming before he got caught! He got home just as I was getting up. Sometimes it doesn't pay to listen to the spirit if you're the only one!

New Car

So this is my wrecked car that I had driven for 13 years. I was a little sad to see it for the last time because it was a such a good car for me.

After trying out quite a few SUV type cars all over town on Saturday, we decided to make one last stop to drive this 2003 Honda Pilot. I wasn't really considering it but wanted to go ahead and say that I had test driven them all so I would feel like I had made an educated decision. Well, I couldn't believe the difference in driving this one compared to all the others. It was certainly in a class above them and handled so well. It was priced a little higher than we had planned but Dean knows me well enough to know that I would not have been happy with any of the others after driving the Honda so he made it work (or will be making it work out for the next few years)! I absolutely love it! I know Little Dean will want to go somewhere with us and try out the DVD player! Rachel's girls liked it and Layla even rode in the very back because we had to find the seat belts and that took a little detective work. It has 4-wheel drive, anti-lock brakes and air bags--all of which are almost a necessity now. I feel like I'm truly a Wyomingite now! Thanks honey-Dean for spoiling me yet again!

This is Seryn at our Valentine's Cookie bake with her swollen eye.

Layla came over to put her scrapbook together. We had a fun time and they all turned out great!

Lylli & I at the cookie bake. I should have one with her playing the piano. I'm teaching her and she is doing really well.
I don't have pictures of Natalie and Carson to post. We read via skype on Thursdays but I'm not sure how good the pictures in the books are because they pixillate (is that a word?) a lot.

Thrilling Car Rides

Yesterday, a gal ran a stop sign and rammed into me, spinning me around 180 degrees and totaling my car. The thing that makes me mad is that I know I can't replace the car for what the insurance will settle for. I'm really thinking that with 2 wrecks that sent me flying in the air, I should make sure I get air bags! They haven't deployed in either of my flying wrecks, but it's quite unnerving to lose control of the car and have no idea where you're going to land. At least this time, I didn't have time to realize what was happening so I didn't think I was dead. Thanks to my hubby and Rachel for coming to get me. Michelle called while I was talking to 911 so if I could have answered, she would have been the first one to know. I'm fine today. I have a few aches and pains, but I think they're from lifting weights!
Valentine's Day was fun. We made cookies with Rachel & her girls and skyped Michelle's family making cookies at the same time. It's not as good as being there, though. We didn't get to taste the GF cookies! Rachel brought everything for dinner and she and Shane cooked, so that was treat. Thanks!

Snow Days!

Santa came on Christmas Eve and almost everybody sat on his lap. Some people weren't good enough to get a present but at least we all got a good laugh! Thanks Santa!

Here's Rob singing and sitting on Santa's lap. Rob's a big kid but Santa knew how to handle him!

Tina & Cindy got to tell Santa what they wanted. I think Dean was promised a lump of coal.
The Rager girls don't think the real Santa comes to my house because the real one goes to church with them! You'll have to ask Mandy what she thinks about him. She caught on pretty fast last year!
We have the same love birds (Shawn & Angela) as last year! They're cute!

I've got some Christmas pictures to post. Keep in mind that not only am I trying to figure out how to post them, I had to download them MYSELF because I couldn't find the file Dean put them in before! I want a computer that I can talk to and it does what I tell it to do! Sorry Little Dean is sideways. Does anyone know how to turn him around?

We got lots of snow over the weekend! The good news is that I had to stay home since my car won't maneuver the deep snow yesterday and the big drifts in the driveway today. The bad news is that I'm too old to enjoy playing out in the snow and I don't get paid. However, I did get in some extra scrapbooking time! I'm supposed to play the organ for the Bach's Lunch on Feb. 4 but I can't get out to practice so that's not very good either. I think I'm going to have to play very slow, easy stuff or practice every day for the rest of the week!
Well, there's still lots of weird stuff happening with the pictures & comments, but the computer is stubborn and I am just going to get frustrated. Hopefully you can figure out which pictures go with which words!

Murder Mystery Dinner

These are pictures of our most recent "Date Night" at Cliff's. It was lots of fun and I didn't do it! My 'husband' Jason turned out to be a murderer. You just can't trust people these days!

Clueless

Evidently you don't have to be blond to be clueless! Or is it that I'm WAY blond now and have gone beyond clueless to hopeless! So I started this blog but don't know what to do with it. I planned to have Dean help me over Christmas while he was home, but we all spent the ENTIRE holiday very sick. We barely had enough energy to play wii! Dean left today and we don't have Rachel's coming over. I came home early to send Dean and his roommate Justin (Shawn Wilde's brother & Angela's brother-in-law) off to Laramie so now I either snack on everything in the kitchen until Dean (my hubby) gets home or figure out how to blog. Maybe I'll write a Blog Diet Book and get rich. Oh wait, you probably have to know how to blog first. Or maybe, you spend so much time figuring it out that there's no time to eat! Now, can I make that into a book?
